What's Inside
The study path is broken into 30 short daily lessons, each pairing a focused topic summary with an immediate practice quiz for feedback. The topics are grouped into four units that mirror the official CIA Part 3 exam blueprint, weighted by how heavily each area is tested:
Unit A — Internal Audit Operations (25% of the exam)
- Methodologies
- Coordination & Reliance
- Financial Resource Management
- Human Resources Management
- Technological Resources
- Internal Audit Strategy
- Board & Senior Mgmt Support and Board Interaction
- Resources
- Building Relationships & Stakeholders
Unit B — Internal Audit Plan (15% of the exam)
- Understanding Governance, Risk & Control
- Internal Audit Plan & Audit Universe
- Sources of Engagements
- Emerging Technology & Risk
Unit C — Quality of the Internal Audit Function (15% of the exam)
- Quality (QAIP Overview & Reporting)
- Internal Quality Assessment
- External Quality Assessment
- Performance Measurement
Unit D — Engagement Results and Monitoring (45% of the exam)
- Attributes of Effective Communication

- Final Engagement Communication & Exit Conference
- Recommendations & Action Plans
- Risk Appetite, Tolerance & Residual Risk
- Risk Management Process & Prioritization
- Gathering Information & Analyzing Potential Findings
- Evaluation of Findings

Other Study Tools
Beyond the 30-day path, the site includes a Quick Quiz (10 random questions from topics you've already unlocked), a Practice Quiz (10 random questions from any unit, unlocked or not), four full-length timed Mock Exams that mirror the real test format, an Exam Cram reference covering every unit's key facts on one screen for last-minute review, and a Progress dashboard tracking completed days, mock exam scores, section-by-section mastery, and weak topics.
Exam Tips
The exam allots 120 minutes for 100 questions, roughly 72 seconds per question. A common pacing approach is a first pass through everything you're confident about, flagging uncertain items to revisit, and checking the clock around the 25th, 50th, and 75th questions. Because Unit D (Engagement Results and Monitoring) makes up 45% of the exam, findings, root cause analysis, recommendations, and communication attributes are worth extra review time. Watch for absolute language such as "always" or "never" in answer choices, since these are often too extreme to be correct, and answer according to the Global Internal Audit Standards rather than how your own organization happens to operate.
